About the artist

Who is Sash?

Sash is a prolific artist with over 100 original works, specialising in water on canvas and excelling across a diverse range of mediums. His artistic repertoire includes oil on canvas, pencil art, watercolour, relief sculpting, stained glass, and linoleum, reflecting a profound understanding of both traditional and contemporary forms of expression. Beyond his creations, Sash shares his passion by teaching art to children in the local Milton Keynes community, nurturing the next generation of artists.

"Art begins with the heart and using eyes, sees everything as it is. It is noticing and appreciating which is the basis for any creation."

Creative Vision

Sash’s creativity knows no bounds, extending beyond the canvas into other areas of life. As an avid archer and air rifle marksman, he brings the same precision and focus to his hobbies as he does to his art. His love for gardening, interior design, and cooking are further expressions of his artistic nature. Guided by the Latin verse “Ars longa, vita brevis” (Art is long, life is short), Sash is driven by the belief that art endures beyond the fleeting nature of life, a philosophy that fuels his relentless pursuit of artistic excellence.

Artistic Journey

Born in India, Sash’s passion for art began at the age of seven and has grown into a lifelong pursuit. In 2003, he completed a Foundation in Arts and Design in India, followed by an HNC in Arts and Design at MK College in the UK. Over the years, he has refined a unique technique, experimenting with watercolours and mixed media on various surfaces, often blending realism with conceptual elements. His artistic process is one of exploration and joy, where experimentation plays a central role.

Community Engagement

In addition to creating his own works, Sash is dedicated to giving back to his SAAC community. He teaches drawing and voluntarily teaches art to young children at a local temple in Milton Keynes, fostering creativity and artistic skills in the next generation.
